Dewitt Clinton would be ashamed

 Dewitt Clinton After the Game

Last night your Bachrach ballbusters fell once again to a ball club named the swingers by a score of 14-2. The performance was terrible. The ballbusters only had 8 hits, two of which were little dribblers barely off the plate, they made 4 errors in the field, and that was only due to some generous score keeping, they hit into two double plays, one of them by player manager Ali "trash mouth" McGlincy that ruined the only ballbuster rally of the day, all in all it was a blood bath. Like calf's being led to the slaughter the ballbusters laid down and got a beating like they never had in there history. Some will place blame on Nick "The Franchise" Catalano and his extra 50lbs, some will blame Scott "The Babe" Book and his lack of 50lbs, some will blame the rantings of the not so Ageless Wonder Allan Ageman, some will blame the cannon arm that Jimmy "The Kid" Sammarco can't control, some will blame pregnant former all-star third baseman Kelly "White Shoes" Lepore for getting knocked up so close to the season, some will blame the right fielder who can't be named and his contract demands before the season, some will blame the missing Jimmy "I'm way to serious for this team" Stewart and his inability to sell Netlan classes and keep his job, yes my friends all these things are true but the fact remains you cannot fire the high priced washed up players. The bottom line is that in a situation like this one person takes the fall, the manager, the watch is on and manager McGlincy's job could very well be hanging by a string. After the game she had this to say "listen I know Mr. Bachrach expects more from me and the team. We have top of the line equipment and facilities, we have new fancy jerseys with our names on the back, we have the highest payroll in the league, I get it, this is unacceptable and it needs to change and it will". Strong words indeed from the feisty ballbuster manager.

As for the reaction of Richard "The Boss" Bachrach who was watching the game from his private booth with Evan "Hank" Bachrach and new signee Jeff "TNT" McLaughlin he had no comment and left very quickly after the final out. Next Friday's game is against arch rival McRoberts. If you can't be a athlete be an athletic supporter.

Notes and Quotes

Rumors are abound at the amount of suits watching the game and what it meant. When asked for comments The Franchise had this to say " This is not manager McGlincy's fault, I support her 100%. we are all professionals and adults and need to start earning our paychecks. I support her completely."

The front office is rumored to have created a potential list of replacement managers in the case they do decide to fire McGlincy. That list was leaked to this reporter.

1. Richard "No Nonsense" Rodriguez- Interesting choice, his no nonsense approach could have the whole high priced roster on probation by the third game, but his is known to get results.

2. Jeff "TNT" McLaughlin- Loud voice, commanding presence could motivate the lifeless club.

3.Allan "Rubber Arm" Ageman- As his playing career comes to an end what better avenue for him to take then field general.

4- Evan "Hank" Bachrach and Scott "Hal" Bachrach- This tandem would make for an interesting choice, although there aspirations seem to be geared toward the front office, wouldn't it be interesting if they went in a different direction and had some on the field training.

2008 Season is Here!

by evan 4/18/2008 8:39:00 AM
Hey kids it is once again that time for BallBuster Softball and the 2008 season is quickly approaching. The BB's are lucky enough to be returning every male starter from the last two seasons. Scott "The Babe" Book has been on an off season conditioning program that promises to see him regain some of the strength he was rumored to have lost last season, Oliver MAYS has been on a similar program and is ready to continue his all-star play, Nick "The Franchise" Catalano has quit smoking and added 20lbs, muscle?, probably not, Allan "Rubber Arm" Ageman has decided to forego hernia surgery and work on strengthening his arm and his back and promises to be back to his old form on the mound, Jimmy "The Kid" Sammarco is returning for his 3rd season, older and wiser, and Chris "I swear I will be ready" Papa and a mystery player round out the men, a group ready to go and eager to bring a championship to Richard "The Boss" Bachrach.

As for our ladies there is some question, Kelly "White Shoes" Lepore and Kim "don't call me Antrosiglio" Bachrach are both with Child and out of the lineup. The ballbusters will rely on some new comers as well as some part timers to fill the voids that cannot be filled by returning starters Player Manager Ali "Trash Mouth" McGlincy, Tara "T-money" Horowitz and Lauren "The Hack" Haak, how the BB's adjust and adapt to the new blood will be interesting to watch all season.

As for rookies and newcomers the BB's pool of talent has tremendously increased from last season, rumors of The Boss acquiring the rights to the Minor League club Solomon Page "Money Makers" have been proven true and many members of that club are now at the BB's disposal, should be interesting to see how they fare with the move up to the big leagues and if any of them can crack the vaunted BB's lineup.
I invite all of you down for a spring training game on Thursday at 6 and Randall's Island, should be interesting to see the new additions and if any of them have a shot to break the starting lineup of the BB's after two consecutive playoff appearances. When asked about the new additions player manager McGlincy had this to say, "It is a good problem to have, I will evaluate the talent and see if anyone can help us, if they can't, we move forward with what we have."

When asked about his prospect for the upcoming season, The Boss, Richard Bachrach had this to say, "Every year my BallBusters goal is to bring home a championship to me and to the great people of the Bachrach Organization. Manager McGlincy and her staff have my full support as long as they continue down that path. At this point in time a championship is expected, and is a directive, I have full confidence she can deliver."

So get ready everyone, seems like this team is destined for great things, and if you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter!
