BallBusters Playoff Hopes Slip Away After Pathetic Effort Against Doris Dukes
Slip sliding away, slip sliding away
You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away
Whoah and I know a man, he came from my hometown
He wore his passion for his woman like a thorny crown
He said dolores, I live in fear
My love for yous so overpowering, Im afraid that I will disappear
Chorus
I know a woman, (who) became a wife
These are the very words she uses to describe her life
She said a good day aint got no rain
She said a bad day is when I lie in the bed
And I think of things that might have been
Chorus
And I know a father who had a son
He longed to tell him all the reasons for the things hed done
He came a long way just to explain
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping
Then he turned around and he headed home again
Chorus
Whoah God only knows, God makes his plan
The informations unavailable to the mortal man
Were workin our jobs, collect our pay
Believe were gliding down the highway, when in fact were slip sliding away
Slip Sliding Away
BallBusters Playoff Hopes Slip Away After Pathetic Effort Against Doris Dukes
In the immortal words of Arista recording artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Paul Simon, the BallBusters season is indeed Slip Sliding away. Last night your Bachrach BallBusters were murdered by Doris Dukes charitable foundation by a score of 14-4. It was terrible, murderous and pathetic and an absolute disgrace, the effort was zero. After the game one of the culprits for the horrible display, Nick "The Franchise" Catalano had this to say, "When the median age of a team is 55 and the pitcher is a 75 yr old women, you have to score runs. This is pathetic, there is no emotion on this team, the fans aren't coming out and we need some energy quick." When asked if it was an issue with the manager he said this, "This is not McGlincy's fault, she went to the playoffs two years in a row, its our fault, I don't know maybe we all got old."
The Franchise was not lying, the effort was indeed abysmal. Manager McGlincy was unavailable for comment after the game, as was much of this team of high priced and underperforming veterans, when I finally cornered Scott "The Babe" Book in the locker room he had this to say “We’ve been thru a lot this year, we lost start players to pregnancy and free agency. This has been a cold summer for the ballbusters. We have no choice but to keep moving forward and hope that the Boss sponsors us one more time.”
Whether or not this is the true BallBuster's swan song remains to be seen. Come out and support the BallBusters next Thursday as they take on BNP Paribas, a team actually worst then them, maybe there'll be a party, oh screw it, the BB's suck, stay home and work late...
Notes and Quotes:
Trying to cheer things up after the game Alex"lets get a drink after the game" Roth was seen telling her teammates how they all hit a good ball. The instability on the field continued as Manager McGlincy was pulled off the mound after only two batters, and some new girl made her debut, people referred to her as Gundle.
